Pricing

How This Works

Prices are determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on the size of the quilt and the complexity of the design you choose.  However, we can give some average prices for basic, over-all designs.

  • Crib - $50-65+
  • Twin - $65-85+
  • Full - $80-105+
  • Queen - $95-135+
  • King - $140-150+
  • Oversized - $150-175+

These prices include basic thread and quilting labor.  Additional charges for thread changes, piecing the back, squaring or repairing apply.  Customers may provide their own backing and batting, or purchase these at the shoppe.  We carry a good selection of extra wide backs, and top-quality battings in polyester and cotton.

Binding Service:

Crib - $25
Twin - $35
Full - $45
Queen - $55
King - $65
Oversized - $70+

Straight grain double fold binding.  Bias & Curves add
to price.

Step 1  - make an appointment
Call to make an appointment with Cheryl for your consultation.  Appointments are available most days from 1-6 pm.  Special appointments can be made for later or earlier times.  Bring in your quilt as soon as you can, because we often have a work list several months long.  If you have a specially urgent need for your quilt to be done sooner, please let us know, we will do our best to accommodate you.

Step 2 - prepare your quilt
Do not baste your quilt!  If your quilt is basted, take the basting out.   Press your quilt.  Piece and press your back if necessary ($10 charge for us to do it).  Your back needs to be 8" larger than your front in both directions to allow for quilting.  If your quilt top is made from pre-washed fabrics, you may wish to pre-wash your back ($10 charge for us to do it).

It is best not to mark your quilt before talking with our quilter.  Often it is more efficient for our quilters to approximate a pattern free-hand, or use our special templates, than to follow a pre-marked pattern (many patterns designed for hand quilting are extremely difficult to accomplish on the long-arm).

Step 3 - your consultation
When you come in for your consultation, you will meet with Cheryl or another of our friendly staff members to decide what to quilt on your quilt.  You will choose quilting patterns and threads.  If you choose to get your batting from us, you will select what type of batting you like (we carry Quilter's Dream cotton, poly, blend, wool, and fire-resistant in two different lofts).  If you choose to have us piece your back, we will help you select your fabrics or you can choose one from our extra wides.  If you choose to have us bind your quilt, you can provide the fabric, or select one from our stock.

You will need to pay for any batting, backing or binding materials at the time you drop off your quilt.  You will not need to pay for quilting, binding, or piecing services at that time.

Step 4 - we take it from here...
We do our utmost to ensure that your quilt is finished on schedule, and quilted beautifully.  We will call you when the work is completed.

Step 5 - pick it up and enjoy!
Come in to pick up your quilt and inspect our work.  At this time, you will pay for all labor, including quilting, binding, piecing, repairing, etc.  Please pick up your quilt within two weeks of your quilt's completion.

Please Note:  please understand that even though we use the best quality materials & machinery, and have well-trained, creative quilters, we are unable to guarantee absolute perfection in quilting.  Our machine is hand-guided, we do not use a computer program.  This allows for better adaptation of the quilting design to blocks and quilts which themselves may not be perfectly straight.   We feel this is an acceptable trade-off which allows you and our quilters greater variety in selecting patterns.  This said, rest assured that our quilting work is among the best in the Tri-State, with many satisfied customers.
