dilemma. How do you know what it will look like, unless you
just go ahead and make it? Well, now we've provided a way
for you to see into the future right in our shoppe!
We can help you draft your pattern on EQ6, and then, using real fabrics that you choose, we can show you a preview of your quilt before you take your first stitch! Or you can buy EQ6 to use on your home computer, and try out fabrics, blocks and settings before you even come into the shop.

Electric Quilt 6.0 became available in late November. You can get either the full version or the upgrade, right here in our store!
"EQ6" is shorthand for "Electric Quilt Version 6.0". In short, it is a computer program that allows you to create a quilt from start to finish on your computer.
EQ version
6 is designed to take advantage of the more recent advances in computer
power. If you have bought your computer within the last 5
years, you can probably use EQ6. EQ6 is not available for
MacIntosh computers.
Using EQ6,
you can:
1. Design your quilt
2. Color
your quilt, change your mind, color again
3. Print
out templates, paper foundations, color reference sheets, and yardage
calculations
How Exactly Does This Work?
You begin by
selecting your quilt layout - for example, choosing Horizontal or
On-Point setting. You select the number and size of blocks,
and the number and width of borders and sashings.
It really
is easy!
Next you work
on your block design. You can choose from literally
thousands of pre-drawn blocks, or you can easily draw your own with
the Easy Draw feature.
Then comes the best part -
coloring!
Yes, coloring! But you get to use real fabrics to color your own quilt design! Here's the good stuff - you can use one of the thousands of fabrics already existing in EQ5, you can bring in your own fabric from home, or you can use any of the thousands of designer fabrics in our store - and some that are not even here yet!
When you've colored and recolored to your heart's delight, it is time to set your blocks in your quilt. This is as easy as clicking your mouse. With another click, you can rotate or flip the blocks to get the effect you are looking for.
Now that you've got your design all set, you can preview and print your templates, yardage chart, and color card. If you've been working on the EQ5 station in our shop, and you have EQ5 at home, we can even send you home with a copy of your project on disc! Wait! There's more...
Now comes the really great part - buying the fabric! You already know we will be happy to help you find the fabrics you've selected for your quilt. EQ5 has already scaled the pattern to the size you want, so you can buy the yardage you need, without any fuss.
